Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters. This page explains exactly what JSON Tools collects, what it doesn't, and how third parties (like advertisers and analytics providers) interact with the site.
1. JSON data is never uploaded
Every operation of our formatter, validator, minifier, and auto-fix runs entirely inside your browser using client-side JavaScript. The JSON you paste is not transmitted to our servers, a third-party API, or anywhere else. You can verify this by opening your browser's Network tab while using the tool — no outbound requests are made with your content.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what is needed to run a public website:
- Server access logs — IP address, browser user-agent, referrer, and the URL you requested. These are kept by our hosting provider for security and debugging.
- Local preferences — your light/dark theme choice is stored in your browser's
localStorage. This never leaves your device.
We do not ask for a name, email, or account. There is no signup.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
This site does not set any first-party tracking cookies. Third-party services (see below) may set their own cookies under their own policies. If you are located in the EU, UK, or other regions requiring consent, you will see a cookie banner on your first visit.
4. Third-party services
- Google AdSense — Displays advertisements. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your interests. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info.
- Analytics — We may use a privacy-respecting analytics tool (such as Plausible or Google Analytics) to understand which sections of the site are most useful. No personally identifying information is collected.
- Hosting / CDN — The site is served by a static host (e.g. Vercel, Netlify, or Cloudflare) which may keep access logs as described above.
5. Your rights
Because we do not collect personal data that identifies you, there is very little to request. You may:
- Clear the theme preference at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
- Use an ad blocker to prevent third-party scripts from loading.
- Contact us via the contact page with any privacy-related question.
6. Children
This site is not targeted at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top. Significant changes will be announced on the homepage.
